Mental Health Month takes place throughout October and October 10th marks World Mental Health Day. Our theme for Mental Health Month this year is Community. Community is important for us to thrive, to grow and connect with others. We will be celebrating community, exploring the importance of minding our wellbeing and activities to connect together for the whole month of October. Some highlights:
Click Ms Bailey and Ms Andrews spoke to the 1st years on the Marina beach, at the special mural created by Tiglin to raise awareness about Mental Health, about the ways to wellbeing and the importance of taking notice of nature, taking time to talk and connect with each other and being kind to those who are not like us. Mr Doel organised a team building game that brought alot of laughter and strengthened bonds. A brilliant Activity made even sweeter by the TYs providing hot chocolate and goodies along the way.
Quote by philosopher Soren Kierkegaard "everyday, I walk myself into a state of wellbeing".
Small actions add up to big changes It can be hard to stay hopeful with all the challenges in our lives. We have a built-in 'negativity bias', but we can also train our brains to look for what's good. This challenge will help you develop realistic optimism by creating a habit of taking small positive actions every day.
